ordering information

nothing currently for sale!

next editions: grayscale sixty four, grayscale one twenty eight, early february 2012

monome devices are created in small batches on a rotating basis. these ‘editions’ are released usually two to three times a year, so unless your timing is very good, you may be disappointed to learn you can’t simply order one from stock. if you don’t wish to wait, used monome devices are frequently bought and sold via our forums.

series walnut bus power upgrades are available.

how do i order?

we announce new editions a few months before they’re ready to sell and ship. we announce an order date and time, and at that time we post payment links on our website. this is where you order. the device will ship within a month typically. we do not accept pre-orders.

often we’ll sell out within a day. we suggest ordering close to the specified order time to avoid missing out.

to be notified of new editions, subscribe to our mailing list on the left.

ordering information

our ordering system reflects the fact that we design and assemble small editions. here are some guidelines and what to expect:

  • please read all ordering information thoroughly. this will prevent any surprises, especially to international purchasers who should expect to pay taxes and tariffs when their package arrives. please do not ask us to declare the package as a gift (which does not reduce the taxes) or reduce the declared value (which voids our insurance), both of which are illegal.
  • requests are addressed in the order that they are received and are dependent on availability. shipping times vary according to our assembly schedule. we will post updates if there are unforeseen delays.
  • we use google checkout for all transactions. you do not need to have an account with google but you do need to have a credit card ready. the transaction is very standard and secure. all major credit cards are accepted. if you have concerns with the transaction or do not have a credit card, we suggest that you that get it worked out in advance as we will not hold a device without full and complete payment.
  • your order is reserved only when full, and complete payment has been processed. please note: payment can be declined by google checkout and/or your credit card company. email receipts and confirmations from google checkout will let you know if your card was or was not charged—read all email correspondence in its entirety. declined payments occur when an order is flagged as fraud. this can happen when the shipping address does not match your billing address. making sure the two are one in the same will save you a headache. also, it can’t hurt to call your credit card company in advance to let them know that you’ll be making the purchase (this is especially helpful to international customers as banks are often suspicious of expensive purchases of american goods over the internet.)
  • sorry, no paypal or bank transfers.
  • if you want a device which has sold out, let us know as we schedule additional editions according to demand. used devices are also trafficked on our forum.
  • e-mail us if you can possibly pick up your order in person.

policy

import taxes and customs fees

the buyer is responsible for any taxes or fees imposed when your shipment arrives. be aware that these fees may be substantial depending on your country’s policies.

we’ve posted the harmonized tariff codes we use.

please do not ask us to declare the package as a gift (which does not reduce the taxes) or reduce the declared value (which voids our insurance), both of which are illegal.

returns

returns are accepted up to 7 days after receipt. the buyer pays return shipping. return shipment must be insured for full value. returned device must be in new condition. buyer’s credit card will be refunded upon receipt and inspection of the device. returns subject to 10% restocking fee.

please contact us to discuss your situation.

repairs

we arrange repairs and evaluate them on an individual basis. we can ship replacement parts or receive a device for assessment. owner pays shipping fees. contact us directly to arrange and discuss all repairs.
