monome, circle, and stretta

we suggest clicking this link to view in full HD.

stretta brings us an exceptional walkthrough and demo integrating multiple monome devices, exceptional soft-synth circle by future audio workshop, and several original maxmsp patches written by stretta himself (graciously shared with the community, often featured here.)

i hope musicians will applaud this great effort to demonstrate the advantages of open sound control.

all driven by one computer. monomeserial is the osc/midi router which supports multiple units in various modes—mirrored, independently running separate applications, and tiled to create larger matrix maps.

today we began sending out invoices for the new edition of the sixty four. we are currently addressing the waiting list. once (if) we get through the list, we’re re-open public orders. the list is closed, please do not contact us requesting to be added. more information on the order page. we’ve scheduled future editions so there is no need for panic.

there are a few more days left in this week’s silent auction for a two fifty six.

several great recent developments: reconstructing the eraser by thom yorke by makingthenoise using his own java-based ableton-interfacing app called sevenuplive. first introduction of peter segerstrom’s npc (an mpc application for monomes) which has astounding promise. haplome is an monome emulator for the iphone written by todd treece which is now open source. if you use and enjoy these applications, let the authors know by donating!

dj64 is a new application by bitbasic. he’s not only graciously shared the source… he’s taken the time to create truly outstanding documentation. read more discussion and praise for this highly anticipated arrival. (i’m actually late a few weeks—we’ve been busy!)

our good friend daedelus

while it’s been our inclination not to exploit the prominence of many of our users and supporters, it’d be a shame not to feature this interview. daedelus (we know him more as alfred) and i met long before either of our ambitions materialized—and now our independent successes are in many ways intertwined. he is undoubtedly one of the most virtuosic performers of our devices and we are very proud of him.

ps. more two fifty six invoices went out today.
