place an order request

you can now place order requests for all of our devices regardless of their current availability.

the second edition of the sixty four will ship within one to two months. we’re taking pre-order payments now, from the request list.

when requesting kits only put in one request, regardless of quantities or combinations.

new order system

posted Jan 30, 2008

tomorrow at 1pm EST we’ll be posting up the new order request system.

our previous system is no longer viable as was demonstrated recently. we will continue making small runs of our devices but we will no longer be accepting orders beginning on one particular day per batch. starting tomorrow we’ll be keeping a running list of requests for each device (this will include kits).

how it will work:

  • requests will be submitted through a web form (which we’ll post tomorrow)
  • when the requested device is available and we are at your place in the queue we’ll send you a payment link via e-mail

be advised:

this effectively will be the new order date for kits, as well as the second edition of the sixty four (which is already mostly sold, due to overflow from the initial orders). if you want a kit (we’re currently producing 200) or a sixty four, you’d best attempt to get an order request in promptly at 1pm EST tomorrow. otherwise your name will remain on the waiting list until the requested device becomes available in the future.

release details

by now you’ve read that we sold out of the sixty four in two minutes.

it has become remarkably clear that our order system can’t handle the overabundant demand. as a result, we received orders for more than our intended edition of 100 units. the good news is that we can produce another edition of 100 units promptly. those orders past the first 100 will be reserved for the next run, which will be ready in a month.

the time of your order is marked on your google checkout e-mail receipt. if you ordered before 1:02:25 you’re in the first batch of 100. these will begin shipping february 4th and it will take us a few weeks to get through the list. we will address them in the order that they were received.

if you received a google checkout e-mail receipt, your order went through. please don’t contact us to confirm your order. you may receive an additional e-mail from google if your payment has problems. you can work these out by contacting your bank or credit card company.

we apologize to everyone who missed the order window. we’re working hard to refine our ordering process and assembly procedures.

sixty four orders

we sold out in two minutes.

we were also unable to deactivate our payment links fast enough, so several of the last orders will be postponed to our second batch of 100 which will be released next month.

more details soon. thanks for your tremendous support and we apologize for our complicated order system.

shown above is the logic board for the sixty four. we’ll have a photo of the full unit in a few days once we receive the finalized enclosure.

shipping rates: $16 north america, $86 international

we can combine shipping for multiple units. orders start this friday. if you haven’t ordered before, you might want to read our ordering howto. we ship via UPS. international orders will additionally have to deal with duty and customs fees upon arrival.

accelerometer built in

the 40h/se shown below has a accelerometer which detects tilt. this is a popular hack for the 40h, which is included standard on the sixty four.

the 256, 128, and 64 all have an 8-bit digital port available, as seen on the top photo to the right of the circuit board. with open access to the JTAG and ISP ports we’re hoping to see some new modifications soon.
