monome: news

mk for september 2011

posted Friday, September 09, 2011

we have a short batch of monome kits available. we’ve also rewritten the firmwares and now have working versions which support a tilt sensor or a bank of encoders.

read more information about the mk here.

we prototyped a small encoder breakout board, shown above. they use standard (low-resolution) encoders. we’re making a batch available as a full kit (encoders, connectors, caps, pcb included) or as blank boards (sold in sets of four.) these boards will work very well in conjunction with an arduino or similar—a mk logic board is not required if you’d like to design a custom project. additionally, these boards can be used with or without a grid attached to the mk logic board.

both encoder breakout kits are $50 each.

complete tilt and encoder assembly walkthroughs are forthcoming. delivery for the mk may take up to two weeks.

note: these breakout boards are for monome kits only, not prebuilt units (grayscale, etc).
