we found this huge block of wood which ended up being quite nice when resurfaced. it’s completely solid, and quite heavy. stainless steel custom knobs compliments of jay voytilla (who also designed the keypads).
this ended up being a good solution for mounting extra components (here we’re using two high-resolution encoders which can read the most tiny movements) as we’ve had trouble coming up with good breakout box solutions with the 40h.
of course the knobs are just a bit absurd, perhaps we should recess them into the wood a bit?
we encourage similar endeavors! just to be clear, this is a custom modification, not that standard 40h.
